The Intel job loss just totaled 3,000 local Oregon jobs in 2024 — which forced us to update our January 3rd graphic of job loss by over 100%.

Biden awarded Intel $7 billion in CHIPS Act grants.

In 2023, Gov. Kotek and lawmakers awarded $200 million in tech-industry grants to local Oregon tech companies.

Yet, Intel is in a painful spot.   They are shedding jobs.   There are lots of reasons.

Not helping is Kotek’s tax and fee increases.

Not helping is Oregon’s overkill land regulations that block development and keep property taxes sky high.

Not helping is Kotek’s budget which calls for a 17% budget boom and 1,200 new government employees.

Not helping is the 2025 Legislature’s plan to raise the gas tax by 32-cents.
