Senate Bill 11 (SB 11) would direct Oregon police to seek citizenship information during an arrest involving gun possessions.  SB 11 helps inform Federal authorities of the arrest.   This would apply to such situations as everyday crimes with gun possessions to high stakes busts such as the one featured above showing how Portland Police discovered during a crime raid a huge stash of 19 guns, drugs, body armor and $13,000 cash.

This bill is sponsored by Oregon State Senator Kim Thatcher, Oregon State Senator Suzanne Weber and Oregon State Representative Ed Diehl, three lawmakers know for their efforts at fighting crime in Oregon.

Senate Bill 11 summary reads, “Directs an arresting officer to inquire about citizenship when the officer arrests a person for a crime and the person is in possession of a firearm. Directs the arresting officer to notify federal immigration authorities if the person is not a citizen”.

Here was a police bust that just happened at a traffic stop just a few weeks ago.
