SB 1023 No foreign adversaries owning land

SB 1023 will require Oregon to create a list of US foreign adversaries to block them from owning land in Oregon.

Oregon Senate Bill (SB1023) will require the Attorney General to create a list of foreign adversaries of the United States and to prohibit them from owning land, critical resources, and water interests in the State of Oregon.

The Summary of the Bill (SB1023) reads: “Requires the Attorney General to adopt and maintain a list of foreign adversaries who are ineligible to receive conveyances of certain land, mineral or water interests. Makes unauthorized conveyances void.”

The bill is sponsored by State Senator David Brock Smith (R).

The bill is scheduled for a public hearing on March 13th at 1 p.m. in Hearing Room B (HR B). To register to testify, click here. You can also submit testimony before the hearing, and 48 hours after a public.
