Oregon #3 food stamp state … yet they want to expand it?

According to the NW Life Channel using Census numbers, Oregon now ranks as the #3 biggest food stamp state per-capita in America.  This is worse from previous publicized ranking by US News & World Report of Oregon being ranked #5.

This week there is a hearing on HB 611 which expands Oregon food stamps to non-citizens.   Read more here.

According to this measure nearly one in five Oregonians are dependent on government groceries.
