Trump Protest #3: Up with Yemen, Palestine … down with USA???

The statewide protests against President Trump made some strange international statements.    One photo alone shows how a Palestine flag was waved in the same photo where two United States flags were waved upside down — a sign of disrespect and opposition.

This was not an uncommon site at the Oregon anti-Trump rallies.

At the Bend anti-Trump rally, there were two upside down American flags next to a support Canada sign.

The Hands off Yemen is curious since Yemen terrorists have been attacking dozens of nations including the United States.

Here is a synopsis of Yemen’s attack upon the world:

“The Houthi movement, formally known as Ansar Allah, is a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization with strong ideological and operational ties to Iran…They are a regional actor engaged in offensive operations across borders — against Israel, against civilian shipping and against the U.S. …Since November 2023, the Houthis have launched more than 50 attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. These waters, among the busiest and most strategically vital maritime corridors in the world, serve as a key artery for global commerce. Roughly 12 percent to 15 percent of global trade passes through the Red Sea via the Suez Canal.The Houthis have also repeatedly attacked U.S. Navy ships operating in international waters. Since December 2023, they have targeted American warships more than 170 times with drones, cruise missiles, and anti-ship ballistic missiles…. On Oct. 31, 2023, the Houthis fired a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones at Israel. One of those missiles was intercepted just miles from Eilat, a southern Israeli port city. More disturbingly, U.S. officials confirmed that a Houthi-launched drone that same week passed over the Red Sea and came dangerously close to hitting an U.S. Embassy office in Tel Aviv.”​ 

Why can’t all the flags be shown upside?

Sometimes people claim that an upside-down flag is a symbol of distress.  If that is so, then why are not the many Palestine flags or Ukraine flags flown (see top photo) upside down?  Why not fly all the flags upright?  Can’t someone be pro-Palestine and pro-America?

It seems that these rallies revel in anti-Americanism.   That every country should be honored except for the one they are living in.
