The desegregation of the Arkansas Little Rock school in 1957 involved President Dwight Eisenhower taking control of the Governor’s National Guard who were being used by the Governor to block black students from entering the school.   The National Guard was nationalized in order to carry out a Federal action.

It is so chaotic that two men were captured throwing bricks at vehicles in the area.
