Lars Larson: Mayor may have cost us near half-billion

NW and national radio host,

Mayor Keith Wilson promises to stick with his race-based decision making at Portland City Hall.

Wilson just sent out a statement promising to stick with the city’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion standards, even if it costs the city almost 400-million bucks it can’t afford to lose.

Understand that DEI is a politically correct label for racism and sexism.

Biased DEI decisions have real consequences for all of the city’s more than 600-thousand residents.

For example, the Rose Quarter project to cover I-5 and create new development land is worth almost half a billion mostly federal dollars. Portland decided to give exclusive rights to that property to Albina Vision Trust, a black advocacy group, which promises to grant all benefits from the project exclusively to black companies and individuals.

Does that sound equitable to anyone?

So, President Trump has told the city, drop the DEI or lose the cash.

The racial bias in the city’s decision violates federal anti discrimination law.

Mayor Wilson counters, quote “We are a better city for our diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

When Keith Wilson ran his private trucking company, I would bet he hired drivers based on their skills and not their skin.

But City Hall has something toxic and infectious in the water and it seems Keith Wilson drank his fill.

That’s the Rose City Rap. Join me at noon on KXL for 4 hours of Honestly provocative talk. I’m Lars Larson
