Phil Knight’s $2B donation hidden detail

Phil and Penny Knight have just pledged $2 billion over 10 years to Oregon Health Science University (OHSU).

The hidden detail behind the donation is that the donation is directed to a specific independent board (Knight Cancer Institute) that will be within OHSU’s umbrella.  That board and director (who already has been named) will include Knight’s involvement.

OHSU has had such a contentious and mismanagement decade, that you can understand why outside donors are finding ways to better manage how their donation is put to use.  Yet, how well managed is the government funding that OHSU receives?
