Anatomy of scene: Portland ICE protest

Here is a scene from the Portland ICE building protest n Saturday October 12th.

One of the key takeaways is how innocent and unexpected drivers find themselves right in middle of a block street.  This car was blocked by protesters right before the pepper gas was used causing the crowd to flee and car to be stuck with a riot going on.   The scene also shows another car at the intersection that will soon enter the scene and make it worse.

The fact that the Portland ICE protest occurs right on a street with routine traffic, means there is a constant state of chaos, risk and danger.
