$1.5B for 105,000 non-citizen Oregon health $$

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

Oregon has spent $1.5 billion of health care tax dollars to provide benefits for 105,000 non-citizens.   Right now, the Congressional Democrat leaders in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate are perpetuating the Federal Government shutdown over negotiating on preserving such funds for non-citizens.

Those total $1.6 billion are straining the Oregon budget.

Yet, the politicians continue to roll-out more benefits:

• They spent $27 million on an airport hotel that only housed non-citizens
• They offered free $20,00 grants for first time non-citizen home buyers.
• Non-citizens were given college waivers
• $15 million has been spent on non-citizen legal aid.

The result of all these generous and unaffordable benefits has been to attract and draw more takers from other states, further jeopardizing our budget.

Recently, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he plans to limit health care benefits to noncitizens as a way to save billions form his state budget.
