The narrowly passed, Measure 114, consider to be the most restrictive gun control law in the nation, had oral arguments in the Oregon Supreme Court.

Attorney Tony Aiello Jr. made these arguments in Court against Measure 114:

“unconstitutional and deeply flawed,”
“BM114 unduly frustrates, burdens, and infringes upon the right to bear arms by banning essential firearms and firearm parts, imposing unjustifiable delays and expenses, and subjecting Oregonians to onerous requirements without adequate procedural protections,”
“This turns millions of Oregonians into criminals just for exercising their constitutional rights,”
• Referenced public safety arguments as “overstated, under-supported and sensationalized”
• Referenced the Measure 114 magazine ban by saying, “One might think of the magazine as the engine of a car … That’s an indispensable part of the vehicle.”
“To get science fiction with it, perhaps a lightsaber may not be included within the class of protected arms. But what we’re dealing with here are firearms, not unlike the firearms we had in 1859.” (He then referenced that guns in early America had more than 10 rounds).
