ICE protesters turn on the Mayor

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson has tried to downplay the riots outside the Portland ICE building as a way to placate the protesters while also discrediting President Trump depictions of the City .  Mayor Wilson’s Police Chief called the protest, “just one block”.  On many occasions, Portland Police, have not been present and have not helped ICE while the Federal building and ICE officers have been attacked by rioters.

This large poster (above) at the ICE protest site shows that it doesn’t matter that you placate rioters by taking their side or by withholding police action, they still consider you the enemy.

Despite the Mayor’s legal and verbal attacks on Trump, and the Mayor’s defense of protestors, these protestors still harassed him a few weeks ago when they would not let him speak in public.  Mayor Kieth Wilson tried to speak at a simple outdoor bicycle event and unexpected protestors (anti-ICE, pro-Palestinian) shouted him down and forced him to cancel his full speech.

The lesson is clear.

You cannot placate rioters.

You cannot tolerate lawlessness and law-breaking.

Portland’s Mayor and his placating, even made national Babylon Bee comedic headlines.
