It’s official — $1.4 billion Kicker refund

The State of Oregon has announced that the Kicker Refund will indeed Kick and return taxpayers refunds when they file their taxes next April (2026).

Oregon collected $1.4 billion more in income and other taxes in the 2023-25 budget cycle than state economists had anticipated when lawmakers approved the budget back in June 2023. This payment marks the fourth-largest kicker in its history. This $1.4 billion is much lower than the 2024 kicker which was $5.6 billion refund that was issued during the 2024 tax season.

The Taxpayers Association of Oregon lobbied the 2025 Legislature against their Kicker raid bills.
