Matt Bunch appointed to fill Drazan’s empty seat

Canby resident Matt Bunch has been appointed to the Oregon House of Representatives, taking over the seat recently left vacant by Christine Drazan, who is now a state senator and running for governor. On Monday, the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners made their decision unanimous, choosing Bunch from a pool of candidates that included him and two others. Bunch, who is also a school bus driver in Oregon City, previously ran in the 2024 Republican primary for the House District 51 seat but stepped back and supported Drazan when she entered the race.

His website lists this experience; “Over the years, I have built a diverse and impressive work history, gaining a wealth of experience in various industries. From Ford Motor Credit, to positions with insurance companies like Allstate, Portland Insurance, Gustafson Insurance, and Clackamas Insurance, I have honed my financial and management skills. I also have a deep commitment to my community and have worked as a Development Officer for the Oregon FFA Foundation and as a bus driver for the Oregon City School District. My dedication to my community is further highlighted by my involvement in organizations like the St. Patrick Knights of Columbus, Canby HS Boosters, Clackamas County Farm Bureau, and the Clackamas County Fair board, where I was elected as Chair in 2022.”
