Holy smokes!” said Senate Republican Leader Bruce Starr of Dundee…“The rest of the bill remains intact and continues to be part of state law,” Starr said.In a statement, Kotek warned that emergency funding to keep Oregon’s roads and bridges safe will be immediately suspended with no viable backup plan.But Starr and others said those layoffs can be avoided if lawmakers prioritize existing funds and work to stay together in the short legislative session in February.“The Democrats and the legislature need to work together to balance ODOT’s budget with existing resources, prioritizing tax dollars just like Oregonians and their families do,” Starr said.”
