Don’t Cry for Joe, He Did This to Himself.

A friend of mine, who voted for President Donald J. Trump in six different elections (three primary and three general elections), asked whether I get tired of Mr. Trump and his administration dissing on Joe Biden.* I have to admit that it does, at times, get a bit tiresome. Let the press do its job and uncover the crime, corruption, mistakes and decline of Joe and move on to emphasizing the progress rather than dwell on the past. Right?

No. Wrong, dead wrong.

The press, with isolated instances, declines to do anymore than minimize the problems that Joe and his administration imposed on the nation. Trump Derangement Syndrome remains the primary driver even as the press defends its witting and unwitting participation in Joe’s deceits. The press is fearless in joining the Democrat elites about “saving democracy” from what Mr. Trump might do. The curious thing is that their speculation of what Mr. Trump might do (without a shred of proof) mirrors precisely what Joe and his administration actually did. No evidence has been brought forward by the press or the Democrat leadership that is evidence of Mr. Trump seeking to subvert the democratic process.

Yes, Mr. Trump has pushed at the edges of Executive Power and there have been countless lawsuits sponsored by Democrat elites and their minions. But Mr. Trump has prevailed in more instances than not and that is just a part of the democratic process and the balance of power between the three branches. Had Mr. Trump defied an order of the United States Supreme Court that would be another story but despite speculation by the Democrat elites as to what he might do and/or the miscasting of the appellate process no such evidence of Mr. Trump’s attempting to overthrow democracy has been presented.

And in contrast, the record is replete with Joe’s acts, and failures to act. Select committees in the United Senate and the House of Representative are scratching at the surface of Joe’s malfeasance but the very process adopted by Congressional politicians insures that they will never get to the center of what transpired during Joe’s administration. You simply cannot get to the substance of abuse by using a process that confines each member of Congress to five minutes of questioning – particularly when half of those doing the questioning are using their time to either defend Joe or demonstrate their own psychosis** such as Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

With new leadership at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Department, the Central Intelligence and the national intelligence agencies more information about Joe’s abuses and corruption are surfacing but it remains unclear whether those agencies are simply combing their files for information buried by Joe’s administration or are actually conducting investigations that might lead to indictments and convictions. Even at that the legacy media either ignores the information from the congressional committees or parses it such that it passes by unnoticed. What little information that gets to the public comes through FOXNews, radio talk shows, or, increasingly more frequently, podcasts. The contrast between the legacy media’s investigation of former President Richard M. Nixon and how they deal with the corruption of Joe is so sharp that you could shave with it.

The fact of the matter is that even with the congressional committees’ investigation, but for Mr. Trump and his administration calling out the results of Joe’s corruption, there would be no news at all. And there would be no discovery of just how close we came to losing out democracy to a group of bureaucrats and advisors that gathered first under former President Barack Obama and were rekindled under Joe. The saga of the autopen has just scratched the service. Given the sheer volume of pardons and commutations done in a rush at the end of Joe’s days in the White House, it is not a significant jump to conclude that this may well have been yet another “pay to play” scheme. The same is true for the foreign aid scandal where millions of dollars were pushed out the door where it was readily available for Joe’s friends and the nation’s foes to quickly siphon off their equitable share.

The lines of corruption are so numerous that a less biased press corps could write volumes about the damage that has been done and the straight line from that corruption to the end of democracy and the institution of Kakistocracygovernance by the most corrupt.

So, for me, while it makes my teeth grind to hear Mr. Trump run on about Joe, I believe it is the only available way for citizens to understand what was happening in the previous four years of Joe.

* Please note that while I usually yield to decorum and refer to politicians initially by their title and thereafter by the title of “Mr.””Mrs.” or “Ms.” as a sign of respect – if not for the person, at least for the office held – I have abandoned those niceties when it comes to Joe Biden because there is substantial doubt that despite having a certificate of election to the Office of the Presidency he failed through stupidity, laziness, ineptitude, corruption and diminished capacity to actually exercise the Office and thus is not deserving of either the title or the respect that would normally attend.

** According to the online version of Merriam-Webster the term psychosis means: “a serious mental illness (such as schizophrenia) characterized by defective or lost contact with reality often with hallucinations or delusions.”
