How he stole nearly 50-bikes with ease

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

Christopher McGinnis was indicted last week for stealing nearly 50 bikes in Portland.

How did he do it?

He chose apartment complexes where you could steal many bikes at once. To get around locks the suspect used bolt-clippers, crowbars and electric saws.   With those tools, a thief can tear through most security locks while causing large damage to the buildings.   It shows how vulnerable a city can be when thieves use power tools, as there is a limit on how much a property owner can do to stop them.  This is why it is more important than ever to have a strong fast-response, full investigative team police force.

Additionally, this suspect was caught because he wore the same clothes to some of the break-ins.  What if the police are not so lucky next time?
