The Taxpayers Association of Oregon played an impactful role in stopping many taxes this year.

Gas tax referendum: Taxpayers Association helped gather signatures to stop Governor Kotek’s $4.3 billion gas tax, which would have cost many Oregon families $300 to $600 more a year.   Taxpayers Association Founder Jason Williams was one of the three Chief Petitioners along with Senator Bruce Starr and Representative Ed Diehl.

Saved your Kicker: Taxpayers Association lobbied to protect your Kicker Tax Refund.  There was both a Senate Bill and a House Bill to raid your Kicker tax refund this year in the 2025 Legislature.   Even Governor Kotek made a press announcement that she planned to steal your Kicker tax refund.  The Taxpayers Association sent out a postcard alert and media campaign to stop it.

•  12 of 15 taxes defeated:  The 2025 Legislature saw the most amount of new tax bill hearings in 15 years.   There were beer taxes, drink taxes, 3% property taxes, $100 million Google/Facebook taxes, vape taxes, RV taxes, and so much more.  We played a key role in testifying against these bills and alerting people online.

$400 million in local property taxes stopped.  The Taxpayers Association took sides on nearly a dozen local tax measures during the May primary and the November general election in 2025.  The Taxpayers Association was often the ONLY OPPOSITION to many local property taxes in the Voter Pamphlet.  We stood up for you when others didn’t.

WE SAVED YOU $1,000 THIS YEAR BUT IT COST US A LOT TO WIN.
