What Happens While We Are Distracted by Speculation and TDS*

The entry, capture and removal of Nicholas Maduro as the dictator of Venezuela was audacious in its planning and flawless in its execution. It would never have happened without the boldness of President Donald J. Trump and the extraordinary capability of today’s military – and in this instance every branch of it. As usual, the mainstream media and the politicians – Democrats and Republicans alike – moved quickly past what actually happened and locked in on the speculation of what might happen next. Given the fact that not a single one of these morons predicted the removal of Mr. Maduro** it is safe to say that not a one of them knows what will happen next. But that never slows them a bit. Speculation has become the bread and butter of talking heads precisely because it doesn’t require investigation, logic, demonstrable expertise or responsibility. You should ascribe no greater credibility to them than you do for the fat guy on the sidelines yelling at the coach as to what play should come next – safe from responsibility for any given outcome.

Responsible people stand in awe of the decision and the execution. Period, full stop. What happens next rests not with the congressional Democrats or the mainstream media. They can burn up airtime until the cows come home but what comes next is solely in the hands of Mr. Trump and his administration – and the extraordinary men and women of the United States military. All else is hot air and not worth your time.

But while the blowhard politicians and their allies in the media speculate what might happen other things of note have actually happened. Gov. Tim Walz who is knee deep in the recently exposed scandal regarding welfare fraud and Minnesota’s Somali community, has announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy for a third term as governor of Minnesota. In a show of transparent bravado, Mr. Walz has accepted responsibility for the nearly $9 Billion fraud during his administration while denying complicity. I know that sounds impossible but in effect that is what he said. While Mr. Walz has stated that his withdrawal is necessitated so that he can he can resolve this scandal, the likelihood is that his polling numbers indicate that he cannot win re-election. Frankly if it didn’t take a super majority of Minnesota state senators to convict and remove Mr. Walz, he would be out the door in time for spring planting. What we are all left to wonder about is how the Democrat Party failed to discover this apparently well known scandal when it nominated Mr. Walz for vice-president of the United States. I would put the blame on their presidential nominee former Vice-president Kalamata Harris but I’m pretty sure that she was as clueless about this as everything else she was supposed to lead – border czar, war on drugs, voting reforms, etc.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has announced that it is closing its doors now that Congress – at long last – ended the public funding for the unrelentingly progressive Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR). Despite the creation of Sesame Street, these entities were publicly funded propagandists for the Democrat Party and its socialist affiliates. The end was way too long in coming and for that the Republican Party needs to apologize for being weenies about its existence.

Hamas committed to disarming its fighters. Like every promise that Hamas has made, it has not and does not intend to comply. There will never be peace between Palestine and Israel until two things are accomplished. First, the ability of Iran to ship funds and/or military supplies to Hamas and Hezbollah must be terminated – terminated with extreme consequences for the leadership of Iran if they fail. And second the elimination of the entire leadership of Hamas regardless of where it resides. (If we don’t have the stomach to do it, green light the Israelis who have previously succeeded in doing just exactly that when they eliminated over time all of those who participated in the murder of Israeli athletes during the 1972 Munich Olympics. So while we await what should be obvious, Israel continues its attacks on hostile forces in Gaza and southern Lebanon. And not surprisingly little attention has been paid to the continuing lies and attacks of Hamas by the mainstream media which tries to avoid anything remotely suggesting the rights of Israel or the fact that it is winning what is now a war of attrition.

And finally, in the aftermath of the election of a bevy of Socialist (Communists) in New York City, Detroit, and Seattle, one should note that in the instance of the socialist/communist leaders of Cuba (Fidel Castro), Nicaragua (Daniel Ortega), and Venezuela (Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro), each was originally elected on the promise of free things, tax the rich, equal outcomes regardless of effort. Each failed to deliver. Each turned to repressive measures to silence dissent in the wake of failure and each became a dictatorship/authoritarian regimes in order to retain power. And in each instance the poor got poorer and the senior members of the regime became extremely wealthy. Seattle, Detroit and New York City are destined for the same failure. We’ll see how they fare in failure.
