Lawmaker bill punishes businesses that sell to ICE

Oregon lawmakers are introducing immigration enforcement-related bills — one would go after businesses and vendors that ICE may be using.  The bill would boycott them from being used by the state.  Currently, there are local governments that are using their power and pressure to block ICE from obtaining hotel rooms in their districts.  Portland has been trying to evict ICE from their Portland building.  This bill appears to take this boycotting to another level by going after any businesses that may have done business with ICE.

Such a bill would be illegal since states cannot interfere with federal interstate commerce.    This is why state boycotts against companies that do business with Israel have not succeeded in court.
