OPB is reporting that the mega-size union lobby non-profit, Our Oregon, is putting out social media ads targeting Democrat lawmakers to vote to undo parts of President Trump business tax cuts.

The lawmakers targeted are; State Rep. Emerson Levy (Bend), Rep. Hai Pham (Hillsboro), and Rep. Daniel Nguyen (Lake Oswego).

Here is a copy of the ad.

Because Oregon tax law draws its definitions to Federal code for uniformity purposes, it means sometimes that when Congress cuts taxes by changing definitions, it also by default, applies to Oregon tax law.   Congress cut taxes for businesses in 2025.  This included depreciation breaks. Now the Oregon Democrat leaders wish to disconnect Oregon from this savings on Oregon taxes, in hopes to diverting away as much as $300 million in tax breaks to Oregon business back to Oregon tax revenue coffers.
