Minutes before hearing gas tax bill not listed

Twenty-four minutes before the consequential hearing on SB 1599 to switch election dates for the gas tax referendum, there was no evidence that the bill existed on the official list of bills on the Legislative website.    There was information on the bill on the website but it was not listed in the most important place to find bills which is the official bill list on the Legislature website.

This means many bill watchers had no clue that the bill existed, much less up for a hearing.   Even people who were alerted that the bill existed had trouble finding it because to find a bill, you go to the bill list website which, as said, did not have it listed.   So you have a super-important bill that was hidden, and to make matters worse, it was announced a Monday hearing on Friday afternoon, right before the weekend, when people are not paying attention.

Everything about this bill works against transparency.
