Janelle Bynum Gets Primaried

Janelle Bynum, Oregon’s Fifth Congressional District incumbent, is being primaried by a 2024 graduate of Oregon State University named Zeva Rosenbaum. Of course, random people tend to file for office, taking a chance like a lottery ticket. However, this young lady has the endorsement of the Democratic Party of Clackamas County and a progressive organization called Courage for Democracy.

Rosenbaum takes a dig at AIPAC and claims she’s going to:

  • Regulate artificial intelligence
  • Make America affordable and livable
  • Get corruption out of government
  • Protect rural and indigenous communities

While Bynum enjoys the key establishment endorsements, I wonder how many voters this long-shot challenger will earn. Is that reference to AIPAC key? It’s certainly a sign of the times for the internal politics of the Democratic Party.
