Boycott Animal Farm. Anti-Communism story turned anti-capitalist.

This week, the newly remade Animal Farm film was released by Angel Studios.  The film base don an anti-communist book is being exposed as anti-communist.  Interestingly, the film debuts on Communism’s #1 holiday May Day.

This is my favorite book of all time, so it is sad to see that it has taken George Orwell’s central anti-communist theme and replaced it with anti-capitalism.   George Orwell specifically made this book as a direct allegory to communism. In the book, the big pig named Old Major represents both Karl Marx and Vladamir Lenin. The power-hungry pig named Napolean who takes absolute control, represents Joseph Stalin.  The character named Snowball represents Leon Trotsky.  The character named Squealer represents the Soviet propaganda machine.  This is how exact the book was about Communism.

All of this is gone with the new film. USA Today said the Animal Farm Director, “didn’t want it to be a story about Stalinist Russia. Instead gravitated towards themes of capitalism, wealth and consumption.”  The former Stalin character of Napolean in the book is actually made less evil and more sympathetic in the film.

The evils of Communism are replaced with the evils of Capitalism, the evils of the banking industry, and the evils of consumerism. As the old-Stalin villain is rewritten, the new villain is a billionaire modeled after Elon Musk’s mother who drives a Tesla truck.

Another symbol of evil is a hydroelectric dam. In the end, the dam is blown up in a terrorist act, and the CEO billionaire villain is killed along with as many as a hundred employees who drown.  In the way the animals destroy property and businesses, it resembles the revolutionary political violence of Marxism.

Please spread the word about this terrible film and how it has hijacked a classic anti-communist novel.

Postscript: There is one scene in the film that speaks on how low the producers have sunk in their values, but it requires some background knowledge to explain.  The showrunners to Animal Farm 2026 are Angel Studios.  This studio became famous in 2023 for releasing an extremely controversial film called Sound of Freedom.   The film, Sound of Freedom, is based on a true story about rescuing children overseas from human trafficking cartels.   At the time, the media attacked the story.   They tried to spin it as a conservative political conspiracy and tied it to other things that had nothing to do with the film. It backfired.  The simple budget film of $14 million went on to net a quarter billion dollars in sales, making it among the best-performing independent films of all time.   The film became a symbol of the fight to just talk about the issue of child abuse and exploitation in the world.   Tens of thousands of people bought free tickets for others so they could see Sound of Freedom and learn about this critical, hard-to-discuss issue.   It was a cultural flashpoint occurring in the theaters.  Now comes Animal Farm 2026.  There is a scene when the pig explains capitalism and the freedom to do anything you want in life to a smaller pig.  The pig passes gas, much to the horror of the other animals, and then says, “That is the sound of freedom”.   This was an inside joke to their last big-known film.  In essence, they made fun of a real-life child abuse story with a flatulent joke.
