Front page Drazan photo makes her party look good

The morning after the election and the photo on the front page of the state’s largest newspaper has GOP primary winner Christine Drazan with an ambient glow, big smile, and looking upon the heavens.  This definitely goes against the media stereotype of Republicans as angry, old and like a college professor.   In a twist of fate, it seems like Governor Kotek fits the Republican stereotype when you see her at news conferences.   Kotek has really struggled at press conferences during her term.  It is as if Drazan is the “hope and change” candidate and Kotek is the stuffy Mitt Romney.  The tables have turned.  What world are we living in?

It is not just about appearance which is ancillary, it is about what these two candidates are saying and the vision they are laying out to voters.  That is what is most important.  An optimistic vision might be a winning break from the Oregon doom-and-gloom narrative that voters constantly hears.
