2 headlines side-by-side reveal total irony

The defund-the-police lobby has been viciously attacking a very common-sense petition effort to restore Portland police levels to normal national city standards.   They say it is not needed.  Yet, the headline on the same day and on the same news source of KGW-TV, shows a headline about how Portland Police could not respond to a kidnapping in proper time due to staffing limitations.  The story shows that it took 20-minutes for police to show up.

The kidnapping was about a man running around naked at Portland popular Waterfont Park.  He grabbed a 7-year-old girl right in front of her parents.

All of this just verifies and justifies the need for the Safer Portland petition to restore Portland police officers to the point where they can quickly respond to 911 calls and where they can engage in community policing.

The Taxpayers Association of Oregon helped collect signatures for this effort.
