The Willamette Week has reported that Multnomah County Health Department will begin doling out to fentanyl smokers a collection of drug items such as a smoking pipe,  tin foil  and straws which is used to take the drug.

The Willamette Week reports “The smoking supplies serve two purposes, Dean says. They encourage people to stop injecting, a vector for disease. And they encourage people who are already smoking to come into clinics, where the county can offer fentanyl test strips, Narcan, a fast-acting overdose reversal drug, and other services.”

Multnomah County has already handed out nearly three million free drug needles annually since 2019.

Multnomah County and Portland have distributed nearly 90,000 free tents/tarps to homeless.

Portland just pulled back from a plan to ban all outdoor drug use.

The City and County keep making all the wrong choices.
