Metro to expand “homeless” tax (that chased everyone away)

Once the tri-county Metro government passed their massive business & income tax (homeless measure), and Multnomah County passed their own income tax measure (pre-K funding), taxpayers fled the county to avoid the tax.  Nearly 14,000 taxpayers left.

Now Metro wants to extend the life of the tax beyond its 2030 date, because it is bringing  in so much extra tax cash.

Metro wants to use it to build homes for homeless and low income people, just like the Legislature that spent $300 million this year for the same thing.
