Hospitals lose millions. Now face 3% tax

According to the Oregon Health Authority data for 3rd quarter, Oregon hospitals collectively lost $10 million.  Previously they have lost over $100 million in a given year.  As a result many Oregon hospitals and medical centers are closing.

Now comes a ballot measure this November that would tax them 3% on revenue.

Note, a 3% tax on revenue.

This means if a hospital is losing millions, they will have to come up with up to an extra million to pay for this new tax if it is passed by voters.

This tax is on top of the hefty $300 million health care tax levied by politicians a few years ago.
