BILL WATCH: House Bill 2189, authored by Oregon State Representative E. Werner Reschke (R) calls for a change to people who get a speeding ticket using photo-radar systems.   Under Rep. Reschke’s bill, the first speeding ticket from a photo-radar would be granted a first-time warning.

In some places in Oregon photo-radar fines range from $165 to $440.

House Bill 2189 (HB 2189) summary reads, “The Act says that if a person speeds or runs a red light and is caught by a photo radar or a photo red light camera, the person must get a warning and not a ticket.”
