The official Oregon Economic Revenue forecast came out this week.

Here are some highlights

• Oregon revenue slowed

• Output growth lagged national trends.  Oregon is under-performing on economy.

• Because of this, the forecasted Kicker Income Tax Refund surplus is expected to shrink.

• The Kicker’s over-collected tax surplus is still over $172 billion, so taxpayers will still receive a check.

• A very rough estimate of what people’s average Kicker Income Tax Refund may between $400 and $600 each.

• If the Kicker surplus continues for the next few months, taxpayers will be able  to claim it next year on their taxes.

• There are bills in the 2025 Legislature to take the people’s Kicker Income Tax Refund.
