The Northwest Nonsense

They say “you can’t fight city hall” but apparently public pressure works when it comes to the corrupt Governor’s office of Tina Kotek.

Farm stand regulations written by Kotek’s bureaucrats threatened to put some Oregon farmers out of business.

Remember…regulations are written by folks not elected by voters and certainly not answerable to citizens.

Oregon claims it protects farming.

Then the state turns around and declares that farmers may only do things on their own land directly related to farming. So, run a corn maze or a pumpkin patch…but don’t you dare sell cider or hot chocolate.

Other rules make it hard to host a concert or stage a bucolic wedding.

Those things bring in the extra income that means make or break for farmers.

Just as the new rules were about to roll in, Governor Kotek finally acquiesced Friday.

That’s a relief from a Governor who usually only gives a damn about things that happen in Portland where most of the voters live.

Funny, how Kotek and company can run political campaigns on stolen marijuana money and peddle influence from office.

But if a farmer wants to sell blueberry muffins, they’ll put him out of business.

That’s the Rose City Rap. Join me at noon on KXL for 4 hours of Honestly provocative talk. I’m Lars Larson
