Nation jokes at Portland’s pro-Hamas (Christmas-free) Tree Lighting

Both Fox News, New York Post and others mentioned Portland’s Tree-Lighting celebration at Pioneer Courthouse Square this weekend.  The word Christmas was never mentioned.  If the Christmas tree was referenced, it was called “the tree”.

One of the guest speakers was a woman with a massive Palestinian flag who chanted “Free Palestine”.   She also wore the red triangle on her chest, which is a symbol in support of Hamas.  So controversial this symbol is in Germany that it is banned by the government.

Here is how the red triangle was used by Portland protesters recently with a banner calling to “Abolish Israel” (photo by Taxpayers Association of Oregon).

People have different views of foreign policies and foreign politics, but it should stay out of unifying holiday events.
