We face Gas Tax, $311M biz tax while retail collapses

The Oregon politicians have passed a $4.3 billion gas tax increase last fall and just this year passed a $311 million tax on businesses.

This comes as The Oregonian reports that retail is falling five times faster than the national average.

The falling retail is both people running out of money and also retail shops closing due to high taxes.

This is why voters must vote NO on Measure 120 and stop Governor Kotek’s $4.3 billion gas tax.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek signed into law SB 1507, which will increase taxes on Oregon businesses by $311 million.  It raises the money by stealing some of the tax breaks from the 2025 Congress Tax Cuts in the Big Beautiful Bill by disconnecting from the state savings from the car interest deduction and the business depreciation deduction.   There is a referendum petition on this tax (see more here).
