Catching Kotek in an education lie

Kotek’s education statement is a ruse.

Gov. Kotek said we made history with our high graduation rates.  What she left out was the fact that Oregon was among the worst states in terms of graduation rates and politicians decided to cover it up by passing a bill in 2021 to lower graduation standards.  This means Oregon is graduating students who do not meet basic reading and math standards.

Graduating students who can’t properly read or write ends up causing huge problems when they enter college.

This year more than 600 California professors signed an open letter that expresses outrage that incoming students are woefully behind and as a a result the professors are forced to teach middle school math to get students to grade level.

Kotek is calling this a success when it is a scandal.
