The former director of the Clackamas County Vector Control District, Joshua Jacobson, is being accused of stealing $200,000 of agency funds. In the charges it says, “The indictment alleges that between February 2022 and December 2024, Jacobson used at least $200,000 of district money to purchase items which he later sold and kept the proceeds or kept for personal use. The purchased items included industrial tools, truck winches, drones and several Apple laptop computers and iPads,”

This comes during the same month a Lane COunty employee was facing charges of theft.

Former Lane County employee Amanda Joy Booth Thorne, age 44, faces serious charges as of July 2026. She has been accused of aggravated identity theft, alongside two counts each of first-degree theft and making false healthcare claims. Authorities allege that she misused a government procurement card to cover personal expenses, including rent and car down payments.
