Sensory rooms come to airports, stadiums

Sensory rooms are being created in airports, stadiums and concert halls across the country.  The above photo is one from the Portland International airport.  They are designed to help disabled, autistic and even service animals from sensory overload in high traffic and high volume places.

What is interesting is that these places are being citizen-driven and not government mandated.    The Portland Airport Sensory Room had a dozen sponsorship non-profits that made it happen.   Upon talking to a multi-arena owner at the recent 2026 Freedom Fest, we learned that stadium owners are doing this because other stadium owners have led the way. Call it corporate positive peer pressure.   This is a great example of the positive values of the free-market system which constantly chases the needs of customers.
