$954,546 Raised in Second Quarter Brings Total Raised Over $2 Million

Dr. Monica Wehby for U.S. Senate

Portland – Today, the Dr. Monica Wehby for U.S. Senate campaign reported raising nearly $1 million in the second quarter, bringing the campaign’s total contributions raised to over $2 million through June of this year.

After an impressive victory in Oregon’s Republican primary (earning over a 50% share of the vote) the campaign’s latest haul helps bolster its cash on hand to roughly $650,000. Adding to this feat, 99% of all contributions to Dr. Wehby’s campaign have come from individual donors. This successful fundraising quarter confirms Dr. Wehby as a serious contender to unseat vulnerable freshman senator, Jeff Merkley.

“Dr. Wehby’s latest report shows a campaign well positioned to upend Jeff Merkley and his far-left agenda this fall,” said Wehby spokesman, Dean Petrone. “The strong quarter indicates both Oregonians and those watching at a national level, believe Monica is primed to unseat a weak freshman Senator, lacking any personal legislative accomplishments in his first term. The Merkley campaign’s exorbitant spending this quarter (despite not having a legitimate primary opponent) shows there is real concern among his top aides.”

Despite not having a legitimate primary opponent, the Merkley campaign spent near $2 Million during Q2 – perhaps hinting at their uneasiness running a career politician against a successful pediatric neurosurgeon, and mother of four. According to national polls, the $2 Million in spending has done little to move the needle in Merkley’s favor, signaling an electorate ready to replace the longtime politician.

Dr. Monica Wehby is currently the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Monica has nearly 30 years of experience formulating medical policy and is a mother of four.
