Key Endorsement Announced During League of Women Voters Debate

BEAVERTON, OR — Today, Rob Cornilles, candidate for U.S. Congress, announced he has earned the endorsement of Beaverton School Board Chair LeeAnn Larsen. Cornilles, father of three sons who have attended Tigard-Tualatin public schools, unveiled this key endorsement at Tuesday’s League of Women Voters debate.

“As a member of the Beaverton School Board, current Chair and mother of 5 children, I understand the challenges facing our K-12 schools. Rob has gone out of his way to listen to concerned parents, teachers, principals and school board members to seek out the most innovative solutions to these challenges, including giving teachers the support and resources necessary for success in the classroom. I believe Rob Cornilles will be the strongest champion for our schools.”

Cornilles has also been endorsed by former Beaverton School Board member Mike Leopold.

“I appreciate the endorsements of LeeAnn Larsen and Mike Leopold. There is no priority more important to guarantee a strong future for Oregon and its economy than providing our children with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the global economy,” Cornilles said. “It’s an obligation we all have to our children and grandchildren. We must look for new innovations so that our schools can deliver better results for Oregon parents, children and teachers.”

Added Cornilles, “In my small business, Game Face, we’ve trained thousands of young people for successful careers. We also need to get our economy moving in the right direction, creating new career opportunities so young people can stay in Oregon and build careers here.”

The League of Women Voters website has the televised broadcast schedule for the debate. A link to view the entire debate will be posted later this week on the Cornilles for Congress website.
