Sprenger not expected to seek re-election

By Northwest Spotlight —

State Representative Sherrie Sprenger is expected to announce that she will not seek re-election to the Oregon House after serving since 2008.

Rumors about the change have been constant around the Capitol since the beginning of session.

Sprenger was appointed to the Oregon House after the current occupant, Fred Girod, was appointed to the State Senate.

She is expected to seek an open seat on the Linn County Commission next year.

Sprenger’s Chief of Staff and Sweet Home City Councilor Susan Coleman is considered a likely candidate for the open seat.
