No to Metro’s $7 billion payroll, car tax

Dear METRO,

Taxpayers Association of Oregon
OregonWatchdog.com

Why are you considering raising payroll taxes for roads?

Oregon pays more in gas taxes than other states.

Oregon pays more in car registration fees in other states.

Oregon pays more in payroll taxes than other state.

Why can’t you repair the Burnside Bridge with existing tax dollars since we are triple overpaying in gas, car fees and payroll taxes?

Raising both car fees and payroll taxes on small business is terrible. Many businesses have spent nearly a half year with barely any customers. Some gyms and theaters are still closed as we speak. Why would you raise taxes on these bleeding industries?

Please vote NO on your $7 billion road project proposal.
