A 50-state survey has tracked the executive approval rating of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic by state and federal governments. The State of the Nation: A 50-State COVID-19 Survey, released July 29, reports that Governor Kate Brown’s approval rating has taken a hit among Oregonians, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise. The overall approval rate of Brown’s handling of the pandemic dropped a whopping 14 points, from 61% approval in late April to 47% in late July.

The results indicate that Oregonians view Brown’s response as ineffective, despite numerous lockdown orders intended to stop the spread of the virus.
