Anna Scharf wins vote to replace Rep. Nearman

Polk, Marion, Yamhill and Benton County voted for Anna Scharf to replace recently expelled State Representative Mike Nearman.   Scharf is a local farmer who has served as local school Board chair, Legislative Policy Analyst (for the district), political science Bachelor degree, and lobbyist in the State Capitol making her among the most diverse experienced of the five selected candidates.

Scharf told OPB, “House District 23 deserves someone who’s effective. I’m not perfect. There’s a lot of learning to do.”

House Minority Leader Chrsitine Drazan said, “On behalf of the entire House Republican Caucus, we are delighted to welcome Anna Scharf to the Oregon House of Representatives. Anna has worked inside the Legislature for constituents of House District 23 and will bring a wealth of experience to serve the office and these communities effectively. I want to thank the many candidates who put their names forward in answering the call to serve.”
