By Taxpayers Association of Oregon

Due to the combined hit of vaccine mandates and increased benefits for people not working, Portland public school has had to canceled dozens of school routes.  Seattle had to cancel over 120.

The District is offering parents a stipend of $300 a month until the end of the year to help them cover the transportation costs.

To stem the shortage Portland Public Schools is offering raises of between $3 and $6 an hour.  Some bus drivers will be making close to $30 an hour.
