ACTION ALERT: Public Comment Needed for Lane County Redistricting

Redistricting in Lane County is upon us and the first draft maps were released for public comment by our “Independent” Redistricting Committee. On Thursday, October 28th, the IRC plans to vote on the final maps (up to 3 total) that will be sent in ordinance form to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption. It turns out one of the members of the Committee who has been producing multiple maps for the committee was also the political consultant for two Commissioners up for re-election, Joe Berney and Heather Buch. He was paid a combined $106,526.57 by the two sitting commissioners and is drawing new boundaries for those same commissioners. Map Q and J he was a co-author.
