The Oregon Way is reporting that former State Senator (D-Scapoose) and now Oregon candidate for Governor Betsy Johnson, has hired Dan Lavey (Gallatin Public Affairs) and Kevin Looper (Wheelhouse Northwest) for her campaign.  Looper is famous for helping some of Oregon’s largest progressive campaigns such as Governor John Kitzhaber and Our Oregon. Dab Lavey has handled clients such as US Senator Gordan Smith and 2018 Governor candidate Knute Buhler.   Buhler this month has endorsed Betsy Johnson for Governor.

Candidate Betsy Johnson has raised over three million dollars in campaign funds, despite just announcing a few months ago.  This puts her in the lead of all 13 Republican and 8 Democrat candidates so far.

Betsy’s closest fundraising rival, NY Times reporter Nicholas Kristof, made news this week when Portland Tribune reporter, Jim Redden defended Kristof over his residency requirement.
