Another Self-Inflicted Wound for President Biden

Choosing a topic for a weekly column can be taxing. Sometimes you have to dig deep and sometimes, like this week, the opportunities abound. Quite frankly, since the advent of the presidency of Joe Biden, for most weeks the opportunities abound regularly. As much as you want to respect the Office of the President, it proves virtually impossible to separate the man from the office. And in this case the “man” has allowed a half century of ineptness intrude upon his duties as President. He continues to prove on a daily basis to be the most witless, most error prone, most culturally ignorant, tone deaf, and inarticulate person to ever hold the office – so bad that it is tempting on a daily basis to urge his removal from office.

So here we go. I mean here we go again.

The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States clearly states in Section 1:

Section 1

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 (enacted to give breadth to the constitutional provision) prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. 

In America, roughly 13.4 percent of the population is identified by the census as African American. The remaining 86.6 percent is composed of people who are identified by the census as White, Hispanic, Native American and Asian. According to that same census approximately 50.5 percent of the population is female meaning that 49.5 percent is male. Approximately 4.7 percent of attorneys are Black and presumably the ratio between men and women is approximately the same as for the general population.

Now here is where it gets tricky, so for those of you who were forced to endure an education led by the teachers unions in the Portland Public Schools you are going to want to take off your shoes and socks because you might need all twenty of your digits to keep up.

Mr. Biden reiterated for the umpteenth time that he would nominate a Black woman to the United States Supreme Court. That’s it. No mention of qualifications, prior experience, legal or judicial aptitude – nothing. Just a Black woman – identity politics at its worst. In doing so he has limited his choice to a demographic of just 6.7 percent of the population. (Again for those of you with your shoes and socks off, that is one half of the percentage of people identified as Black.) So if you are Black man, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. If you are a Hispanic man or woman, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. If your are an Asian man or woman, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. If you are a Native American man or woman, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. And if you are a White man or woman, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. If you are a member of 93.2 percent of the population of America, Mr. Biden will not even consider you. Mr. Biden discriminated against 93.2 percent of the American population solely on the basis of race, color and sex. (He would likely have added in religion and national origin if the opportunity presented itself.) In doing so he violated the fundamental principles of the Fourteenth Amendment and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. As a result Mr. Biden again stirred the ashes of racial and gender bias and animus and continued to divide the country into disparate categories of people. Apparently Mr. Biden lacks the cognitive skills to join words and deeds together. Mr. Biden talks constantly about the need to “come together” and yet he and his predecessor President Barack Obama continue to do as much as possible to divide. It is little wonder that racial animus continues to increase.

These are self-inflicted wounds born out of just plain stupidity. It was the same stupidity that made him promise Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC)) that he would nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court in return from Mr. Clyburn’s decisive support in the Democrat presidential primary race of 2020. (The promise of a government position in exchange for political support violates both state and federal laws but is seldom enforced because the beneficiaries include those who have been appointed to enforce those provisions.) Mr. Biden could have told Mr. Clyburn that he could not make those kinds of promises but assured him that all qualified candidates would be considered including Black women (wink, wink.) and while such actions are equally egregious they do not result in actionable consequences. Mr. Biden runs his mouth continuously with little thought or recognition of the consequences of his rambling.

But even if there were not constitutional and legislative prohibitions against discrimination Mr. Biden has a prime example of the dangers of using race and gender as the sole criteria for appointment to high office. Her name is Vice President Kalamata Harris and she represents an open running sore for Mr. Biden and his administration. Ms. Harris is a person without knowledge, without qualifications and without accomplishments – except for bedding the former California Speaker of the House from which all the remainder of her political career has sprung. She has been and remains the single most studiously ignorant person to rise to national office. She simply refuses to do the work required to perform at the level of expectation for public office – whether as the United States Senator from California (not a single accomplishment) or Vice President of the United States (either failure or non-performance with regard to every task given her). Just as a reminder I have noted on several occasions:

Ms. Harris is a prime example of someone who remains studiously ignorant of the facts and . . . how woefully ignorant she remains.”

Ms. Harris is the single reason to not call for the immediate removal of Mr. Biden from the presidency.

And the unfortunate thing about all of this is that it is only going to get worse as the problems increase and our enemies become emboldened.
