Dem leaders, DOJ ask Judges to ignore Measure 113’s plain language

Democrat Leaders, DOJ Cronies Ask Oregon Supreme Court to Ignore Plain Language of Measure 113

By Oregon Senate Republican Leader, Senator Tim Knopp

SALEM, Ore. – Today, the Oregon Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case challenging Secretary of State Griffin-Valade’s ruling on Measure 113 which restricts one-third of the Senate from serving another term.

“Though the plain language of Measure 113 is unambiguous and clearly allows members to run again in 2024, partisan Democrat leaders and their friends at the DOJ have asked the Oregon Supreme Court to turn a blind eye,” said Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp (R-Bend). “Our hope is that the system of checks and balances will prevail and the decision to silence those who opposed lawlessness will be reversed.”
