Crime, riots close Portland Buffalo Wild Wings

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

As KPTV reports, the downtown Portland Buffalo Wild Wings locations is closing after 17 years due to crime, vandalism and loss of traffic due to the multi-year riots in Portland.

The owner begged the landlord, City of Portland, for more security but declined.

Interesting, since the City of Portland has been awarding $250,000 tax cash grants for businesses to locate in downtown Portland and has been spending tens of thousands of dollars in free business gift cards, but does not have any money to hire security for the buildings that the City owns.

This leaves only one Buffalo Wild Wings within Portland (near airport), but several outside Portland.

This is looking similar to REI which closed their downtown location this year, but keeps locations open outside of Portland where taxes are low and crime is much lower.

YouTube channel, Andy’s retail exploration, documented two years ago an abandoned Buffalo Wild Wings in NE Portland off Broadway because of crime in the neighborhood.
