Pamplin firm under investigation

Willamette Week is reporting, “An email WW obtained under a public records request shows federal Department of Labor investigators are probing the tangled finances of the shrinking Pamplin empire.” Pamplin Communications just sold two dozen Oregon newspapers last month. Read more on story here.

At the same time The Oregonian reports this week on the Pamplin fire, “Portland environmental advocates are renewing their calls on the R.B. Pamplin Corp. to transfer its remaining ownership of Ross Island to an entity they say can better protect and manage the island’s sensitive habitat in perpetuity.”
